    Emek 'Ravi Shankar' Print Release

Emek 'Ravi + Annoushka Shankar' Edition Size: 17 x 25

Here is the latest print from Emek. Here are the details, "Ravi Shankar is considered one of the world's greatest musicians, and continues to give concerts, tour, teach and compose. He is almost 90 years old, but he can still transcend space and time with his flow. He is the father of superstar singer Nora Jones and grammy nominated sitar prodigy Anoushka Shankar, who accompanied her father on this tour. Anoushka has played with Thievery Corporation as well, which is very cool. You can see some recent footage of Ravi here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eG2moqxqIaE Ravi Shankar was already a respected classical musician when in the mid 60's Beatles guitarist George Harrison studied with him. Harrison later played the sitar on the Beatles song "Norwegian Wood", as well as 6 other Beatles songs. Ravi also influenced Rolling Stones founding member Brian Jones on how to play the sitar, for the Rolling Stones' song "Paint it Black". Those songs wouldn't have happened without Mr. Shankar's guidance. Ravi's association with the Beatles made Shankar an international star. In turn, through the Beatles, the philosophy, music and fashion of the East became adopted by the '60s peace movement, becoming icons of that era. Shankar performed at the Monterey Pop Festival 1967, the Woodstock Festival in 1969, and Carnegie Hall many times-- Interestingly, the Monterey Pop Festival had a lot of firsts: It was the first big Rock Festival,  the first major American appearances by Jimi Hendrix and The Who, the first large public performances of Janis Joplin and Otis Redding and the first American performance by Ravi Shankar. Ravi has received many awards throughout his career, including many Grammy Awards and an Academy Award nomination for the score to Ghandi. He has not had a really cool concert poster in over 40 years. This 2009 poster was for a special concert in his home town of New Delhi, India. I have had the fortune to visit there and it is one of the most amazing places. It was my honor to make this poster for him. The poster measures 17" x 25" and is an 8 color silkscreen with metallic gold ink signed, numbered, doodled and embossed. This piece goes on sale Saturday May 30th at 1pm EST at www.emek.net. Michael Sieben 'All The Time' Edition of 100 Size: 12 x 12 Inches $60 Each
Michael Sieben 'All The Time' Edition of 100 Size: 12 x 12 Inches $60 Each

I got an email today from Michael Sieben giving me the heads up on his NEW print called 'All The Time'! FROM MICHAEL: "I've wanted to make a print of this piece for a long time. I made this painting in 2003 and it's one of the only things I've ever made that I'm not willing to sell. I feel like this piece really sums up the emotion I'm trying to relay with my work. I worked with James Grendzinski on the printing and I think it turned out really great. This is the first giclée print I've ever had produced and I'm really happy with how true the print is to the original painting."

Technical Specifications: 12 x 12 inch Giclée print on 188 GSM Hahnemühle 100% acid-free cotton rag signed and numbered by the artist with an edition size of 100.
