Emek 'Pink Lady' Erykah Badu Print Release Details

Here is the latest drop from artist Emek, this art was commisioned by musician Erykah Badu for her NEW album. This is called 'Pink Lady' and it is a 17 x 17 inch screenprint with an edition size of 100, comes doodled signed and numbered by the artist for $50 each. You also receive the matching 'Fist' handbill as part of this release, it is a 7 x 17 screenprint that goes perfectly with the other 'Fist' prints Emek has done for Erykah in the past. This will be available at 3pm EST on Friday June 11th.

Emek 'R.I.b.P' Fish Foil Print Release Details

We all know the devastation of the recent oil spill off our coast. "This could be one of the worst environmental disasters in our nation's history." N.W.F.

To help raise money for relief efforts we have created this limited edition art print called 'R.I.p.B' Fish print. This is a 4 colour 12 x 6 inch screenprint on holographic foil paper with an edition size of 400, comes signed and numbered for $25 each plus we will include a free sticker of the same image with every purchase!! A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the National Wildlife Federation, one of many organizations currently working on the crisis. These will be available from 9am-9pm PST on Monday May 24th.

Emek 'Haiti' Relief Print Available NOW

Here are the details regarding this release aiding Haiti by artist Emek.

This print is called 'Haiti Relief' and it is available STARTING January 23rd and ENDING Friday night January 29th. The edition size will be determined by the number of orders placed. *you may order as many as you would like. (only need to pay shipping once) The sale will be open for 1 week, STARTING now January 23rd and ENDING Friday night January 29th. So everyone will have enough time to place an order either by mail or through paypal and not get shut out by everyone going to the site at the same time once we have a total number ordered, we will have the posters printed at D&L ScreenPrinting they have graciously offered to donate part of their services to help make this happen. The silkscreen posters will be signed and numbered by the artist. Please expect about 3-6 weeks for delivery.

p.s. I contacted numerous relief agencies to donate my posters and let them sell directly, they all said it was better if we handle all the sales and shipping ourselves and just donate the money, so that is what i am doing. :)

Earlier this week we saw this drawing above as a teaser for the upcoming 'Haiti' charity print by artist Emek Golan. Now we have a copy at the finished product below! Now we anxiously wait for the drop! No word on edition size but I expect minimum 300 maximum 1,000.

EMEK 'Sonic Youth' Print Release Details

Here is artist Emek latest masterpiece. This is for the January gig for Sonic Youth in Los Angeles. This is a 5 colour 22 x 31.5 inch screenprint, comes with signature, numbered, embossed and doodled for $75 each. Emek 'Spoon' Print Release Info

Here is artist Emek's latest print release, this is for the 'Spoon' gig on December 11th last year. This wicked image is a 7 colour 18 x 24 inch screenprint, comes signed and numbered by the artist for $55 each. Some of you lucky purchasers will have the cream paper variants randomly substituted. This print will be available on Wednesday January 13th at 3pm EST.

Emek 'Carnivorus Musicalus' Batik Released

Here is the next release by artist EMEK, it is called 'The Carnivorus Musicalus'. This is a very limited edition hand painted batik measuring 68 x 45 inches in size. There are only 65 in the edition and they come signed and numbered by EMEK for $125 each. Each batik is hand painted by a family in Bali, Indonesia. Upon arrival in the USA, they are signed and numbered by Emek. (image below) No two batiks are the same! In addition to a wall hanging, some people frame the batiks or even wear as a sarong. 'The Carnivorus Musicalus' was originally used on as the official event poster for the 2007 Coachella Music Festival - beautifully illustrated by Emek. A portion of every sale will go towards new filtration systems. The family who makes each wall hanging by hand is paid very well and hopes you love our product! The word batik (pronounced Ba-teek) means "wax written" and this is basically what batik is. It is a way of decorating cloth by covering part of it with a coat of wax and then dyeing the cloth. The waxed area keeps its original color and when the wax is removed the contrast between the dyed and undyed area makes the pattern. Big, bold designs in bright colors are most striking. The fabric is 100% Indonesian rayon. Made from natural coconut cellulose. The fiber is put through a process using alkaline, making it into a woven fiber, which makes a good durable textile. There are many different qualities of rayon and we only work with the highest quality. The dyes are a colorfast - the same as the dyes used for any textiles. Unfortunately it is not a natural dye; as natural dyes will wear and fade very quickly. However, the dye baths go in to a filtration process being disposed which is a progressive environmental step for the people of Bali. All the dyes are hand blended to get the different shades. Then they are literally painted between the wax lines with paint brushes. I just checked back and now it is sold out!! Shitty!! :(
